About Me

Hello, I’m Robin!

As an accountant, I spend most of my day sitting at a desk analyzing data and making journal entries. Boring…so, it is important that I make time for mind and body renewal.

At a very young age, I remember doing cartwheels down the street as I went shopping downtown with my mother.  It seems that as soon as I could walk, I was tumbling and dancing.  My aunt had a dance studio where my sisters and I spent our weekends plié-ing, tendu-ing, barré-ing, cartwheeling, chassé-ing, and tapping across the dance floor.  Every year ended with a dance recital with over-done make-up, sequined costumes, and silver spray-painted ballet shoes — it was magical!

I discovered exercise as most of you did—through elementary school physical education class.  I loved running and jumping, playing games, and square-dancing in the school’s gymnasium or on the playground.  Recess and P.E. were the best times of the day because that is when I felt the freest and most energized.

I have enjoyed dancing, taking aerobic classes, and weight training most of my life.  While in junior college, I choreographed and performed in annual dance shows.  Between semesters and after I left school, I attended aerobic classes and did weight-training at the gym to stay strong and flexible.  Later in life, I discovered salsa dancing and performed with a few semi-professional and professional dance groups.

Yes, I took some breaks, but fitness and remaining active have always been an important part of my life.  So, when I became GiGi to my step-grandson, I was  even more determined to stay active so I could get down on the floor and play with him.

I’ve learned that life is what you make of it.  I may be a “mature woman”, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to sit in a rocker and reminisce about the good ‘ole days.  As long as I can, I plan to keep moving and being creative, and hoping more of my dreams come true!
